Plant some seeds and glowing flowers grow, illuminating everything around them. (Munch on a glowing flower and your character will glow for a few minutes, too.) Even in the darkest places, lightning bugs circle in packs, hidden ore deposits glitter in the gloom, even the slime trails of disgusting monsters give off a welcome bit of illumination.

The combat could use some love, as well as the loot that drops from these combat encounters. Armour and weapons should feel more interesting to find, and the balance needs a fair bit of work to not feel jarring.

I recommend taking the "Miner" Background so you start with a Copper Pickaxe — you'll have to do a lot of digging at the beginning!

I just bought the game and just like Minecraft it throws me into a dungeon and explains basically nothing. The crafting menu is so pixelated it feels quite uncompfortable for the eyes and controls fell les intuitive then what I know from other games.... however enough of whining. Once you feel that you have solid equipment, you're going to want to start hunting for Glurch. Glurch is the first boss; it is a giant slime that is constantly jumping in place. You'll have to explore the area around the Core and listen for a slamming sound.

Slow-moving slimes may not seem like much of a challenge, but if you stumble across a good-sized bunch, things can take a turn quickly. Not only do they do a surprising amount of damage, but if you die, you’ll also need to head back to that area to reclaim just about everything you had in your pack (only equipment and whatever was in your quickbar will respawn with you).
